Abel Eastman estate document, 1820.

This document, recorded by Henry G. Johnston, justice of the peace of Claiborne County, Miss., describes the division of the estate of Abel Eastman among his widow and other heirs by four court-appointed commissioners. The estate consisted of slaves and land in northern Claiborne County near Gunns Bayou. The land was divided into equal parcels and the heirs drew lots to determine which parcel each would receive.
